My husband arranged this special dinner as a mini-celebration after our recent wedding, and it exceeded our expectations. We were fortunate to sit at the chef's counter , which gave us a front-row view of the kitchen in action. Watching the chefs at work added a unique and engaging element to our dining experience. The tasting menu offered a well-rounded selection of flavors, and if you appreciate wine then the pairing is highly recommended! Though it's hard to choose, the duck dish was the standout for me--perfectly cooked and delicious. Service was not only fast but also highly attentive. We had a great conversation with our server, who was personable and knowledgeable, adding a warm touch to our special dinner. We left with plans to definitely come back for another time.

My boyfriend surprised me with reservations here for dinner one night. We sat the counter and were able to talk to the chefs and watch the food be prepared. It was a great experience with great food and drinks. The cocktails were great and reasonably priced and the menu was also phenomenal and reasonably priced. This is definitely a place you want to make a trip for.

The first time we dined here it was great the food was fantastic and the menu seemed to have a lot to offer. We came back two weeks ago on a Sunday and the menu seemed to be half the size. Not sure if that's because they are closed for the next three days but it did seem rather limiting. I still absolutely would recommend this place, the food is fantastic and you can tell the chefs take pride in what they do.

Marshall Virginia's dining destination is well worth the journey. An outstanding choice of environments is on offer with bar, main, cabana and patio dining. Knowledgeable staff will guide you through cocktail and wine lists. We made our selections from the ala carte menu. A prix fixe experience is also available. Our first and mains were expertly prepared, innovative, and flavorful. The locally sourced wine pairings were on point. We highly recommend a visit to Field & Main.

Great location, oozing with atmosphere, a stellar staff and...incredible food! Our waiter, David, was extremely helpful and knowledgable about the menu. But it wasn't just being familiar with the offerings, he was well versed in how the food was prepared, where it was sourced from, etc. He made ordering a vital and pleasant part of our experience. Prices are moderate with some incredible values thrown in. Portions are generous, presentation is absolutely top shelf. We found our dinners to be world-class regarding prep and seasoning. Kelly had the Seared Scallops. They were stunning, perfectly seared and presented with a peach and corn salsa that complemented the scallops prefectly. I had the Foggy Mountain Pasta Creste which was so perfectly seasoned, I could taste each individaul seasoning without any of them overwhelming the dish. For a special treat, try their Hearth Bread Board and one of their over-the-top Ooomami Smash Burgers (one of the great values on the menu). David said the burger was voted the best in the area and we agreed! For yet another premium experience, have a seat at the bar, order some potatoe skins and watch the food being prepared right in front of your eyes. Hand towels in the rest rooms, expert wait staff, memorable flavors...all of this at a $$$ fine dining location. We think we got one of the best values yet! We'll be back!!

My lady and I had the pleasure of attending the Chef's Counter Tasting Menu at Field & Main and we were blown away by the level of courtesy, professionalism, and exquisite wine and food pairing! My lady is a vegan and the chef accommodated her menu on the spot. Our waitress was polite, knowledgeable, and a delight to have. Since we sat at the counter and could see the food being prepared, I took the liberty to ask the line cooks about all of the delicious food that was coming out, and they answered all of my questions with such joy as if they were thrilled to be asked. Chef even came over a few times with a couple of the dishes we asked about and even let me try a thing or two. Huge shout out to Chef Joffrey, Su Chef Joal, cooks Alex, PJ, and Jordan for all of their hard work and FANTASTIC food!
